From now – Mid-May: Embrace the Lake! If your group (neighbors, Scouts, school, church etc) wants to do a trash cleanup along ditches, a local stream or creek, the lakeshore – we provide beautiful posters, bags, gloves for free and help with publicity if desired. WEEKEND of 4/22-23

4/22: Waterfront Cleanup & Spring Cleaning, 10 AM - 1 PM. Meet at Stewart Park, Ithaca. Keep Stewart Park and the Cayuga Waterfront Trail beautiful by helping with spring cleaning! Register by the parking lot between the Picnic Pavilion and Wharton Studio to collect litter, trim vegetation, weed and mulch, and sweep and blow the trail surface. Bring gardening tools and push brooms to Cass Park, Stewart Park, and The Space At Greenstar to celebrate Earth Day by keeping the Trail beautiful. 4/22: March for Science – Ithaca and CNY, 12 noon – 2 PM, Bernie Milton Pavilion, Ithaca Commons. The rally will feature science activities and presentations from local groups, students, and scientists, as well as discussions about how science impacts our everyday lives. For an informal walk beforehand or afterwards, the organizers suggest the Carl Sagan Planet Walk route. 4/22: Honoring the Waters ceremony & potluck, 12 Noon – 3 PM. A gathering at Stewart Park, Cayuga Lake, near the large pavilion for Honoring the Waters. An elder from the Cayuga Nation will be leading us, and there will be a few others, representative of different Nations who will sing to the waters. We are all looking forward to bringing in the spring season, on Earth Day, through honoring the waters. Sponsored by the Cayuga Lake Water Protectors. To be followed by a potluck meal. 4/22: Celebrate Earth Day, 1 PM at the Ithaca's Children Garden. We will gather around Gaia the Turtle in ceremony to give gratitude to our Mother Earth That Sustains Us. We will Share poems and songs giving thanks to the air we breathe, the water that nourishes us, the sun that warms us, and the earth that feeds us. Please bring drums and instruments. At 2:00 we will Parade around the Children's Garden dressed as our favorite Tree, Animal or Flower representing the flora and fauna of our Earth.We will have our Earth Flag flying celebrating our Precious Planet that we need to take care of. 4/23: 4-H Duck Race & Compost Fair – times & locations at link below. Join us to watch 3400 bright yellow rubber ducks tumble over the falls at Cascadilla Gorge Trail then bob down Cascadilla Creek in a frantic and fabulous race to the 4-H Education Center on Willow Avenue. Take a chance on a duck and win GREAT PRIZES if your duck among the first 50 to cross the finish line! 

Enjoy refreshments, live music and entertainment, activities for kids, and the ever-popular COMPOST FAIR all afternoon long, at the CCE-Tompkins Education Center at 615 Willow Avenue in Ithaca. 4/30: Cayuga Challenge 5K & 2K Kids Run, 10 AM Cass Park, Ithaca. The 4-H Youth Development Program at CCE-Tompkins and the Ithaca College Sport Event and Networking Club have teamed up to host this 5K Race and 2K “Fun Run” on Sunday, April 30 at 10am in Cass Park in IthacaAll proceeds benefit 4-H youth programs in Tompkins County!
